The Beit Reference Library stands as a vital visual art information center on the first floor of the Douslin House. Its primary mission is to support everyone who seeks to research visual art or desires a tranquil space for their studies, fulfilling a crucial role as an information resource center. The library proudly boasts extensive collections of books, periodicals, and unique documents that hold national, historic, and cultural significance. Aligned with the vision, mission, and functions of the National Gallery of Zimbabwe, the library is dedicated to advancing the development of Zimbabwean visual arts by providing essential information to all stakeholders. We ensure that the public, both in Zimbabwe and globally, has proper and reasonable access to the library’s diverse collections, which encompass subjects such as printmaking, painting, music, photography, graphic and decorative arts, architecture, sculpture, and various other related fields. We also have an extensive collection of press cuttings that go back as 1972. The library is open to all and invites you to explore its treasures.
